Absolutely OUTSTANDING! Grew up frequenting SF Chinatown and most people don't have the opportunity to experience regional or authentic dishes in other areas. This restaurant goes above and beyond and is some of the best Chinese cuisine in Santa Cruz if not California. Jazz Music, simple creative decor.....and food that keeps us coming back for more. So grateful for this wonderful place.

This is a restaurant opened by my friend from Sichuan. Chef Mo thoughtfully blended authentic Sichuan flavors with local American tastes. I highly recommend the Sichuan-style fries, baked buns, salted egg yolk fried rice, spicy fish fillet pot, and spicy chicken. The ingredients are fresh and healthy, and the seasoning is creative. If you’re visiting Santa Cruz, it’s definitely worth a try!

Everything is so tasty! Thoughtful twist on traditional Chinese Sichuan food. More like a Californian Chinese restaurant - fresh ingredients, healthy nourishing, very well-balanced taste. They're still in the soft-opening phase and the interiors were not entirely renovated yet. Regardless, I'll definitely come back for the food itself.

Fusion Fare is our go-to spot in Santa Cruz. The food is consistently excellent and feels truly authentic, especially the braised duck, which is always tender and full of flavor. On top of that, the owner is a genuinely nice guy who makes you feel welcome every time you walk in. Great service, great atmosphere, and great food — we keep coming back for a reason.

I love this place, but it took some warming up. At first, I was a little put off by the “I can give a rip” attitude from the younger lady at the counter. She wasn’t accommodating at first, but continued to make suggestions to help me find what I was looking for. I ended up getting the red oil won tons because I wanted something that was traditional but on the smaller side. She recommended it because she said it made the chef “taste home”. It was super good! The noodles had a great chew, the soup was flavorful and it tasted good until the last drop. I’d go again!

First time in this restaurant. Their servings are pretty big so plan on sharing. We ordered salted egg fried rice, mapo tofu cheese, spare pork ribs, and beef noodle soup, then they gave us complimentary sesame balls for dessert since they said that our order is big. Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious! Comforting soul food. The beef noodle soup helped soothe my sore throat after screaming in the rides of the Santa Cruz Boardwalk haha.

This place totally exceeded my expectations. This Chinese restaurant serves incredibly flavorful and authentic dishes. Highly recommend! The staff was friendly, the service was quick, and the atmosphere was cozy. If you’re in Santa Cruz and craving Chinese food, don’t miss this spot! My faves are spicy beef burger, sweet and sour spare ribs and coconut lava balls! I wanted to try some other dishes next time :)

Do you like Szechuan flavor? Do you like explosions of yumminess like little fireworks in your mouth? Then this is your place! For flavors that will keep you coming back for more you'll need to dine here at Fusion Fare. We ordered everything (pretty much) and ate in house as well as take-out. All of it is super good. The portions are great and the service is awesome. Very authentic and traditional tasting fare for both vegan and gluten-free eaters!

My wife and I saw some dishes on DoorDash from Fusion Fare that sparked our interest. Later we decided to give it a try and we are so glad we did. We DoorDashed so pretty impressed for takeout. I hope this place never loses what they have going here. We got the Peppercorn Stir Fry cabbage (5/5) so good. House Crispy Chicken which was mind blowing (5/5). Golden Pockets which were nice (4.5/5). Sweet N Sour Spare Ribs (5/5) super tender and hit the spot. We finished it off with the coconut Lava Balls which were awesome (5/5). If you are unsure about this place but interested I think it’s worth a try. Definitely a new favorite spot for my wife and I. Definitely going to have my family check it out.

Seems like a Sichuan spot has finally settled into this little corner of Downtown Santa Cruz after a few turnovers, and I am here for it. With Chinese music playing in the background to the inclusion of art and red elements, my mouth was ready for the fire. You seat yourselves when not busy and order by scanning the QR code to pull up the menu (and pay in the end). A huge plus for all the clearly marked vegan options available! At least a third of the menu is marked vegan and gluten-free, which helps a lot to make the offerings more inclusive. We first wanted their lunch special but were informed that it only applied to weekdays (something not formally written). I figured as much but it would've been great to get those deals on a Saturday. We ended up going for their Sichuan Numbing Noodles and the Stir-fried Lotus Root and Veggies. Everything is marked as being spicy but I'll be honest and say... it could've been spicier lol. The numbing noodles had great flavor. I love drinking water afterwards and feeling like my tongue can taste the spice. They don't use wider noodles unfortunately but the thinner rice noodles work just as well. If I were only getting the noodles, I would add tofu to give some protein. The lotus root dish itself was also great and would've really gone well with rice. Glad to see this be a part of the downtown selection and hope they continue to do well.
